Letters

Thanks to Vernon Parent and Candy Parent for doing most of the work in making this correspondence available here and on our yahoogroups site.  Candy writes: "The files contain transcribed letters written to Vernon - mostly written by Joseph Parent, in the early 1960s. Feel free to read the letters. My dad and I spent a pleasant Easter evening going through copies of old letters and mementos from Joseph, Dorthea, Virginia, and of course, Edward. The most enjoyable of these are probably the love letters that Grandpa sent to Grandma shortly after they had met. Also, patriarchal blessings and other things. We're hoping to get some photos scanned. My dad and I found a great newspaper clipping with a photo commemorating the Golden Wedding Anniversary of Alphonse and Josephine Lavoie Parent. Please enjoy the additions to the group website and email me with any comments or suggestions. If any of the letters spark memories that could be used in a history of Joseph Parent, please record and share those. Have a great day!"
